Im Rahmen der Ausstellungsreihe BELLEALLIANCE, die sich hier im lebendigen Stadtteil im Schanzenviertel dem Thema zwischenmenschlicher Verbindungen und Bündnisse widmet, und nach der ersten Ausstellung mit dem ersten Künstlerduo Silke Marohn & Youssef Tabti mit ihrem Projekt WATERLOO kommen wir zur zweiten Ausstellung BELLEALLIANCE #2 mit dem Titel GESCHICHTENINNENWELTUMGEBUNGSHYPOTHESENBAUNETZWERKAPPARATUS.
Wie auch beim ersten Künstlerduo sehen Sie hier das Ergebnis eines wechselseitig bezugnehmenden Prozesses der beiden Künstler Oliver Ross und Rüdiger Frauenhoffer über die vergangenen 4 Wochen, der während der Ausstellungzeit fortgeführt wird.english version

The BELLEALLIANCE exhibition series is designed to address the topic of interpersonal relationships and alliances and is set against the backdrop of the lively Schanzenviertel district of Hamburg. After the first exhibition with the first set of artists, Silke Marohn and Youssef Tabti, and their project entitled WATERLOO, the time has now come for the second exhibition in the BELLEALLIANCE #2 series: GESCHICHTENINNENWELTUMGEBUNGSHYPOTHESENBAUNETZWERKAPPARATUS [STORIESINNERWORLDENVIRONMENTHYPOTHESISCONSTRUCTIONNETWORKAPPARATUS].
As with the first artist duo, we can see here the result of a process in which the next set of artists, Oliver Ross and Rüdiger Frauenhoffer, have referenced one another over the past four weeks, and will continue to do so for the duration of the exhibition.
Both artists use their project to cast a net of attention, so to speak, and deal with the topics of interior and exterior, form and fiction, space and the surroundings as well as the movement, expansion, filtering and narrative networking taking place within these areas.
Where is inside, and where is outside? And where, if at all, are the border(s) running between the two? Is there really something different happening inside the one than inside the other? Or does the exterior of one correspond at all to the interior of the other? Are we inside right now or are we just going out today? And where do the lines of communication run: from both or all sides, or vice versa? As if through a membrane and only in one direction? Opposite and past each other or via a one-two to the home team’s goal?
Oliver Ross and Rüdiger Frauenhoffer actively address these questions with their apparatus, which—as the name suggests—hypothetically enables the exchange of inner worlds and environments via networks through the construction of stories. Or maybe the hypothetical construction of networks from stories to inner worlds and environments? Or even the comparison of inner and outer worlds via the construction of networks to hypothetical stories.
Whatever the case may be,
the apparatus always breaks down supposed boundaries. What the outside of one
is, is the inside of the other.
Oliver Ross likes to examine internal networking structures, their channels, and reciprocal mechanisms with the outside world, whereas Rüdiger Frauenhoffer devotes himself to the procedural exchange with external comments on his historical architectures in the form of multimedia influences from fellow artists, interested parties, visitors, trades, agencies, or other actors, including those from the neighborhood, whose characters and names he has previously combined with those of actors from the tabloid press to create new figures in his stories.
But first to Oliver Ross and how he writes about his art
itself:
„From the Rossological lab come transparent reverse glass paintings, whose
lush colorfulness becomes procedural through light simulation. Many things come
together in them that attempt to connect at cutting edges, forming ever new
organic-ornamental forms that develop urgently—a constant stream of vital
substance: multiplicity of transition with details of local reduction: pictures
in pictures. Space and time play an important role in this: on the one hand,
something encapsulates itself, concentrating on its peculiarity, only to
radiate diffusely into its surroundings again: What comes from the general
space-time continuum also wants to return there: art of the environment.“
Rüdiger Frauenhoffer combines personal
relationships and newly established contacts, characters from the tabloid
press, and media events in his illustrated stories into various interwoven
narrative strands and architectures depending on the space where the exhibition
is held. He invites the protagonists appearing in his stories to comment on
their occurrence in his stories. Their statements, references, advertisements,
or multimedia works increasingly become visible during the guided tours,
discussions with the artists, and finissage in the procedural course of the
exhibition.
Since the exhibition, like the whole series itself, is dedicated to
interpersonal connections and alliances, this thematic field—like that of the
previous exhibition entitled “War” and the many exciting conversations and
discussions that resulted from it—is also placed in its current context here.
What other topics can be referenced or applied to now using the topics
addressed here? From which perspectives can the exhibition be viewed? How solid
are our borders when we need to link the interior of the other next time? I
think it’s worth investigating all the current topics we’re confronted with
here.
